Very first attempt. Just grabbed a camera, a kid, a cat and went out with little more than an idea and a hastily scribbled shot list. Be the outcome as it may the real value here was in the learning experience I had by just doing it.

A little more prep time and a few more bodies here. Still learning. Added some production value I think with moving shots achieved with a jib, a couple of dollies and a car mount - all homemade.

These are three segments of production footage I shot at Fort Bragg, CA. during my son-in-law's film school project entitled, "Flounder." In the first segment I shot the story as it unfolds. In the second you have my version of "Behind" the scenes. And in the third just a number of random shots depicting the fun that can be had in the shooting process.
The actor in "Flounder" is my son Michael Holder who is a dedicated actor and one who is definitely willing to make sacrifices for his art - that water was freeeeeeezzzzzzzing!

This is a short film by my son-in-law Mike Houghton that was shot at the SF Academy of Art studios. He did a great job directing a small crew and a great piece of work was the result. The actors were acting students at the Academy. The sound and lighting guys were also students and I ran camera. My daughter, Jonna, was the producer and provided food services.
Check out Mike's other work at www.tropicalduckfilms.com. He recently graduated the San Francisco Academy of Art film director's program and is currently in the Los Angeles area looking to make his mark on the film making world.
